Let’s take a moment to recognize the guiding hand behind the Co-op renovation project: the BCC Project Committee. As connoisseurs of organic and sustainable foods, Co-op members understand that all good things take time and careful preparation: from good, rich soil to sun-ripened fruit to slow-simmered flavor, the perfect spaghetti sauce can’t be rushed. So, too, with our expansion project. We began preparing way back in 2015 when we formed the Project Committee, a group made up of our General Manager, board members, and Co-op owner-members.
Originally intended to coordinate member-sourced funding initiatives, the Project Committee’s role developed into much more than that. It became an advisory committee, gathering important information and aiding the General Manager in making big decisions, and a bridge between the Board and owner-members during ongoing Capital Campaign projects. While the Committee initially met once a month, with the beginning of construction, it now meets every two weeks. So a big round of applause to the dedicated individuals who provide the vision and support the Co-op expansion project needs to keep moving forward!
